I'm a hat girl. A full fledged hat wearing, hat tipping, hat tossing gal. I have a collection of hats I wear all the time, and am always on the hunt for another one to add to my collection. Lately I've been finding myself searching for straw hats. Granted, straws are a minority in my collection, but maybe that's why I'm craving one so badly. I'm also tempted to attribute my desire for one to the fact that growing up I wore one practically all summer long at our family's cabin. My sisters did as well. In fact, it's the first thing we'd do after we arrived(besides plopping our bags down), was run to the the rustic bunk room and grab those tried-and-true old straw hats from off the dresser. We each wore the same one from the previous year, and would inspect each other and ourselves in the mirror, laughing that we looked like female versions of Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn.
I miss those days. Although the new straw will never replace the old tried-and-true rustic straw, these lovelies are calling my name. It will be hard to choose just one.
